  • Rigid Heddle Weaving Introduction: Level 1

  • Learn Rigid Heddle Weaving: A two-week class running on Tuesdays from 6-9pm. Join our instructor  Carly to learn the techniques to create your own woven garments and accessories using a rigid heddle loom. This introductory class will guide you through weaving your first scarf, through the process of warping your heddle loom, basic weaving methods and finishing techniques. Students will weave on looms provided by EweKnit. We also have portable rigid heddle looms for sale from Ashford and Cricket.
    Price of class does not include materials. All materials used in class must be purchased from Eweknit.
    About the Instructor: 
    Carly Franklin is a Toronto based artist and designer who focuses on weaving and fibre arts. For over 6 years Carly has applied her weaving techniques to create creative garments and accessories. She holds a Bachelor of Design degree from OCAD University and last August she won a grant with TFI, to create a handwoven accessories line for the men and women. She loves sharing the love of creating and building cloth, one shuttle throw at a time.        
    Cancellation policy: Cancellations or changes must be made be made 72 hours prior to your first class.
