Carly to learn Saori weaving. Saori weaving combines free-form and semi-structured weaving techniques along with creative self-expression to create unique and wearable woven art.
This introductory class will guide you through weaving your first Saori cowl or scarf. You will learn how to warp your heddle loom, clasped weft and inclusion weaving methods and finishing techniques. Students will weave on Ashford looms provided by EweKnit. We also have portable rigid heddle looms for sale from Ashford
Price of class does not include materials. All materials used in class must be purchased from Eweknit.
About the Instructor:
Carly Franklin is a Toronto based artist and designer who focuses on weaving and fibre arts. For over 6 years Carly has applied her weaving techniques to create creative garments and accessories. She holds a Bachelor of Design degree from OCAD University and last August she won a grant with TFI, to create a handwoven accessories line for the men and women. She loves sharing the love of creating and building cloth, one shuttle throw at a time.
