PATTERN NOTES
Fingerless mitts are worked in the round from the cuff up. The thumb opening is created by working back and forth in rows. When changing yarn colours for stripe sequence, loosely carry yarn up the side rather than breaking yarn for each colour change. An optional chain stitch appliqué is worked along the side edge and around thumb opening as a decorative addition and also to hide the round joins. Work this chain firmly, but not too tight. This pattern is written to use DPNs, however it can also be worked with magic loop or very short circular needles if you prefer.
