The faces printed on these jumbo crochet hooks aren't just cute, they also help make it easier for kids and beginners to learn how to crochet. The face and bow tie help beginners understand how to use a crochet hook by giving them easy points of reference for the front, back, and "neck" of the hook.
The grip is designed so beginners can choose how they prefer to hold the hook. The thumb rest on the front side and the extended grip on the back allow for a comfortable grip whether holding the hook overhand or underhand.
Grand-chan is available in three sizes:
8 mm (Green) / US size L-11
10 mm (Pink) / US size N-15
12 mm (Purple) / US size P
Tulip has also prepared a video introducing how to use Grand-chan.
The story of Grand-chan from Tulip:
The face of “Grand-chan†is based on sketches that were made by kids. The crochet hook with a face made it easier for us to instruct the user as to which direction the hook should be pointed in. It also allowed kids to learn how to handle the crochet hook quickly and easily. We would be happy if both kids and beginners could learn crochet in a relaxed and stress-free way. Grand-chan was created with these ideas in mind. We hope that kids will enjoy crocheting using their imagination, therefore broadening the world of knitting and crochet.
