Kimberley and Sarah was based on research into prints adorning eighteenth century muslin dresses and skirts. ThisLiberty print was loosely based on a design called 'Tapestry Spray' from a 1930s block print impression which was selected as small bouquets of florals are a recurring theme within muslin dresses and skirts during this era. The design was re-drawn with pencil and gouache.
