Verona was inspired by the beautiful Italian city, perhaps best known as the setting of Romeo and Juliet. Rich in history, with a relaxed pace of life and an enduring appreciation for art and architecture, Verona is a city filled with romance, beauty, and timeless elegance.
The Verona Pullover is an airy, dreamy transitional piece, perfect for cool summer evenings and the first crisp days of autumn. It is worked from the bottom up, using two strands of lace-weight mohair for the stockinette sections and a single strand for the lace panels, creating a fabric that feels both light and delicate. Despite its elegant appearance, Verona is a quick and enjoyable knit. Because it uses lace-weight yarn, it can also be a surprisingly affordable project. I wanted to share this design with you first so you could have it finished and ready to wear just as autumn begins.

NOTES
This sweater is worked from the bottom up with raglan shaping. The yarn is held double while working the stockinette stitch portions, and held single while working the lace pattern. The body and sleeves are worked separately in the round to the base of the yoke, then joined to work the raglan shaping. A small section of short-rows is worked at the back of the neck to help with fit. Sleeve instructions are written to use DPNs, however an alternate method of working small circumferences can be used, such as Magic-Loop, or a short circular needle for the larger sizes. As the yoke decreases, change to a shorter circular needle.
